Jesoor for
trauma recovery has signed a partnership agreement with KinderUSA. KinderUSA is
one of the active organizations in the field of humanitarian support for
Palestinian children promotion children’s rights, freedom and living in dignity
and peace. KinderUSA mission is “alleviate the suffering of children and their
families - regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs - by bringing material
goods into war zones and areas of disaster, to provide material support to those
living in refugee camps, to initiate educational, health, and rehabilitation
programs, and to dynamically reverse the psychological damage caused to these
innocent beings due to the horrors of conflict”.
The aim of the project is to offer and develop quality of mental health services
for Palestinian children and their families living in the Gaza Strip, and
contribute to creating a generation of children raised in a culture of respects,
healthy child-parent relationships and feelings of security and self-esteem. The
project targeting areas are those who deprived the mental health services in the
southern and northern part of the Strip. It is implemented by the team of mental
health professionals working at Jesoor organization.
The project includes both curative and preventive activities at the
institutional and community level. Children will be cared for in the centre,
some will be referred to more medical investigations and care, home visits (when
is allowed) will be the applied in addition to other community activities such
as summer camps and community awareness activities. The team will cooperate with
different local institutions, community centers, key figures and religious
leaders to facilitate the implementation of the project.
