of autumn

In the Gaza Strip, rain doesn’t fall in summer and in scarcely falls in
the winter. Naming the brutal invasions and the massacres of Beith
Hanoon in the northern part of Gaza Strip by “summer rains and
clouds of autumn”, Israel has converted the blessings of rains into
brutal aggression, killing innocent people, children, women and
adults. It has turned the blessings of rain into destruction of
houses, uprooting trees and destroying farms. The value of rain is
to convert a desert into a paradise covered with green trees, food
and flowers installing hope, happiness and spreading peace
among people.

In the last six days, from 01.11 to 6th November 2006, of Israeli
massacres in Beit Hanoon, more than 90 people were killed among
them women and children, hundreds of people were injured, and
many houses were demolished leaving thousands of people
homeless. Even, school buses could not protect children from
being attacked by the Israeli shelling and missiles. The whole Gaza
Strip is being strangled by the Israeli military; the region is
surrounded by tanks, entry or exit from Gaza is closed by the army
while hundreds of civilians among them woman and children are
forbidden to return to their homes. By these measures, Israel is
creating a frustrated and radicalized population that feels trapped
and isolated.

The deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip demands immediate
international intervention. The international community cannot
remain passive and must step in and implement the demands of
Humanitarian and International Law.

“Summer rains and clouds of autumn” will nourish the seeds of
hatred and is going to grew plants and trees of hopelessness,
which indeed, will break the bridges for peace between the two
nations. The clouds of autumn throw grow spikes in the road of
both Palestinian and Israeli children.

Israel must be held accountable for violating all international
conventions and humanitarian law. The international community,
human rights organizations, and those who believe in humanity,
peace and justice must pressure Israel into immediate political
negotiations with the Palestinians. Jesoor organization, as many

direct negotiations, with the sponsorship of the United Nations and
on the basis of International Law, will achieve such a resolution.
